A Coffee Shop Tour of Inverness

Despite having written almost 50 blogposts over the last 18 months, can you believe this is my first dedicated blogpost about things to do in the Capital of the Scottish Highlands, Inverness? I think we often overlook spending any quality time in Inverness because we end up spending most of the time running errands or getting to "the big shops".

However last week, we enjoyed spending two nights in Inverness. It was so lovely to have some dedicated time in the city and, in particular, to go out and try some of the great food and drink offerings available in Inverness.

Bad Girl Bakery, The Victorian Market

If you've read my blogpost on my day trip to Beauty, you'll have read about our recent visit to Bad Girl Bakery. This is one of the most interesting food businesses to pop up in recent years in the Scottish Highlands, so when I saw that they were going to be taking over a unit in the newly revamped Victorian Market in the centre of the city, I was so excited to come along and visit. To be able to enjoy some of the delicious baking in the heart of Inverness is so lovely.

We enjoyed a white chocolate, passionfruit and raspberry tart, whilst also trying a delicious Peach Melba smoothie from their sister venture, Good Girl Greengrocers. Both were really delicious and full of flavour so we had a wonderful time enjoying them. It was also so lovely to see new shops in the Victorian Market, a part of Inverness that I've really grown to love in recent months.

Cup and Cone, Crown

On Friday afternoon, we also enjoyed a wee visit to Cup and Cone in the Crown area in Inverness. We often pass Cup and Cone whilst driving through Inverness, but we've never stopped in. It is a small coffee shop but a lovely little relaxing coffee shop making it a lovely oasis in the heart of Inverness. I enjoyed a chai latte and we shared a malteaser cookie which was a real treat. Another perk of coming to Cup and Cone is there is currently on street parking nearby which is free, making it a really easy place to enjoy an afternoon pick me up in the heart of the city.

Utopia, Hilton

This actually isn't my first time visiting Utopia, although the last time I visited was over 3 and a half years ago when I first got engaged. Hearing that Utopia had reopened over the last few weeks, I was really excited to give it another go. Utopia is a really lovely and tranquil space in the middle of Hilton, a wonderful place to meet friends and enjoy some delicious food together.

I had a really wonderful smashed avocado and halloumi toast for brunch. It was delicious and felt so nourishing. I also had my second chai latte of the weekend, which was warming and spicy and the perfect autumnal drink. I just love the relaxed and fun vibe in Utopia, making it the ideal brunch spot in Inverness.

If you've been to Inverness recently, what's your favourite place to grab a coffee or sweet treat in the Capital of the Scottish Highlands?
