A few weeks ago, we drove from our home in Lochalsh down through the Highlands and into Argyll. It's a part of Scotland that I don't know super well, which seems wild to me. I've always said it, but I really do believe that road tripping through a place is one of the best ways to explore a new place. It's one of the best ways to see a lot of a place and get a real feel for the things you want to see and explore in a place.
Roadtripping through this part of the country was so dreamy. We passed by lochs and mountains, quaint little villages and even a couple of castles. As someone who loves exploring new places and finding hidden gems wherever I am, it was my favourite thing to find places I've never been before.
Whilst on the journey, we stopped for the evening somewhere I've never been before: Inveraray. We drove through Inveraray in the morning and I was really excited to be able to stop here in the evening. Inverary is a lovely little town right on the front of Loch Fyne.
Although we didn't spend a long time in Inveraray, we did stop and have a fish and chips by the lochside. There's really nothing that can beat a delicious fish and chips by the sea in the summer months! What better way to finish a roadtrip through Argyll.
I'm super excited to be heading back to Argyll at the end of this month, when we spend the weekend in Oban. I am so excited to go back to Argyll and hopefully find some more amazing things in this part of Scotland. If you have any recommendations on things we should visit whilst in Oban and the surrounding area, do let me know.
