Death Could Not Hold Him

"Men of Israel, hear these words:Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves know-this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised Him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it."

Acts 2:22-24

This has been a strange week for those living in the UK. Even for me, living in the far north of Scotland, it's been a strange week. Things that we thought never would or could change have, and it's left many of us feeling a bit strange.

I was reading Acts 2 on Friday morning and really encouraged by the words in Acts 2:24. It's a passage I've probably read lots of times before, but I only noticed verse 24 for the first time the other day. It's just amazing to read that it was not possible for Jesus to be held by death, and that He has been raised from the dead and He is now alive!

Even when things feel out of control and the world is changing all around us, it is so amazing to know that death could not have a hold of Jesus. Knowing that Jesus is alive and His Kingdom is still going strong is such a wonderful and amazing thought in a world that is always changing.
