High and Wide and Deep




"And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."


Ephesian 3:17b-19



This last month has been really special to me. I started this new year knowing that I wanted some things to change in my life. Although I've been incredibly blessed over the past few years, I've felt a bit stuck in a rut. I've not really known how to use my passions where I live locally.


This year, I've decided to really try and do what I can to make my own life better. I've been working out more. I've been reading more. I've been (trying) to stop doom scrolling on social media.


Above all these little habits though, I really want this year to be a year I draw closer to God. I shared this goal for the year in a blogpost I shared a few weeks ago, but I already see how much my relationship with God has changed and grown over the past few weeks.


This little passage at the end of the third chapter of Ephesians is one I've loved for years. Throughout troubled times, it's reminded me just how great God's love for me is.


Despite the rut I was in before, or the changes I've made in my life so far, God's love for me has never changed. It is still as great as it was last year and it will still be as great as I continue in this life.
