Love in the Face of Persecution

"May Your unfailing love come to me, Lord,

Your salvation, according to Your promise;

then I can answer anyone who taunts me,

for I trust in Your Word."

Psalm 119:41-42

In the face of persecution, whatever that might look like, it can be hard to know where to turn. You can turn towards it: to fight it and face it. You can turn from it: avoiding thinking about it at all costs and hoping it doesn't catch up with you. You can freeze: you can let it hurt you.

As a Christian, I know that persecution is bound to come my way. I might not know what it will look like right now, but it is coming.

Yet in the face of persection, it is such a relief to know that I can trust in the unfailing love of God. Those around me might turn from me. Things might go wrong. But knowing that God loves me unfailingly is such a hope in the face of the persecution that is to come.

I can continue onwards knowing that God's love is unfailing in the face of all things, including persection.
