Lunch at Kinloch Lodge

Since I started this blog almost two years ago, I've had a wee list of places I'd love to visit in the Scottish Highlands. One of those places is Kinloch Lodge on the Isle of Skye. For years I've been hearing about the wonderful food available at this spot in South Skye, so I was super excited to visit this past weekend.

We had a lunch voucher to spend so we were excited to see they have a sharing plates menu at lunchtime. For Finlay and I, we love having lots of little plates of food so that we can try lots without overeating. So this was ideal for us.

We decided to choose four small plates to share between the two of us: the pulled barbecue venison, Korean style crispy chicken, the gnocchi with soy almond butter and roast broccoli, and the patatas bravas. Trying lots of different fresh and interesting dishes was so fun for us. Our favourite small plate was definitely the Korean barbecue chicken. It was so crispy and the sauce was delicious.

We also decided to get a wee dessert to finish off our delicious lunch. We shared the apples and dates with almond cookie and salted caramel ice cream. It was a unique dessert where all the flavours just worked so well together.

For us, one of the highlights of spending time at Kinloch Lodge was simply spending time enjoying the beautiful scenery of South Skye in the beautiful spaces in Kinloch Lodge. I just loved the décor in this hotel (it be even become inspiration for my future home!) I just loved how the character and charm of the hotel was retained, whilst feeling modern and fresh using bold and interesting wall colours and wallpapers. Even in the depths of winter, I'm sure Kinloch Lodge would still feel like a cosy home away from home. We had a pot of tea in their Drawing Room and it was such a perfect way of enjoying a day off on the Isle of Skye. If you have time to eat, stay or simply visit this beautiful spot on the Isle of Skye, I would highly recommend making the journey here.
