The Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre and Larder Cafe, Fort William

The Larder Cafe, the Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre, Fort William

Every couple of months, I meet my Mum and Dad in Fort William for a few hours. It's about four hours from our home in Lochalsh to my parents house outside Glasgow, wheras Fort William is about an hour and a half from our house and about two and a half hours from Glasgow. This means we can meet up for a few hours and then head back home in the afternoon.

The place we normally always end up meeting is at the Larder Cafe at the Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre in Fort William. This cafe serves delicious brunch and lunch options with a changing menu throughout the year, as well as coffees and cakes.

On our recent trip to the Larder Cafe, I enjoyed a delicious avocado on toast, with pickled radishes and sun blush tomatoes. Finlay (being a lover of all things sweet) had chicken and waffles eggs benedict. After a spot of lunch, we always get a coffee and a couple of cakes to share. Our favourite cake is the chocolate and sea salt cookie sandwich. We even managed to get some the other day when they were fresh out the oven and still a little bit warm and gooey! Absolutely delicious!

Once you've finished eating at the Larder Cafe, I highly receommend checking out the soaps, smelly bits and other giftware in the Highland Soap Company shop. I love the smells of the Highland Soap Company products (so much so, we stock them in our shop). My favourites are the whisky and honey range and the wild nettle and heather range.

Cosy Spirits Spot, Highland Soap Company, Fort William

The Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre also has a wee nook dedicated to alcohol and spirits from around the Scottish Highlands and Islands. I love looking around this area to see all the great products from around Scotland, and I love the cosy feel of this spot.

If you are visiting Fort William and the surrounding areas, I highly recommend stopping by the Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre and Larder Cafe. It's a really fantastic spot on long journeys and (we know from experience) that it's a great spot to meet family and friends.
