The Joy of Unknown Walks in the Scottish Highlands

If you've been following along on my blog for a while, you'll know I'm not one for hillwalking. I'm sure I could get into walking up hills if I started doing it, but running a small business and having an old dog sometimes limits the amount of time we can spend doing long, steep hikes.

One way I love spending my weekends living in the Scottish Highlands is exploring the unknown trails and walks near our home.

These trails aren't necesarily in any guide books or on someone's guide blogpost to the Scottish Highlands (except mine) but they are truly wonderful places. These might be special trails into the forests we have near our home. They might be walks alongside the river or into the glen. They aren't necessarily anything exceptional, but they are beautiful places to admire the views of home that I've come to love in a new way.

I've purposedly not shared where this lovely wee walk we went on recently was. It was a beautiful little walk through the forest and up a hill to see our wee home in the Scottish Highlands from a new perspective. You can find little walks like this throughout the Scottish Highlands, short walks a wee bit off the beaten track.

On your next visit to the Scottish Highlands, I'd highly recommend taking a wee wander somewhere new. You never know what you might see.
